Jaime D. Padron Elementary School advances student success and saves school resources by fostering whole school sustainability. They decided to go solar and to integrate an educational kiosk for students and staff to learn about solar energy and the solar system that they had installed. Their solar system is estimated to produce at least 316.000 kilowatt-hours of clean, renewable energy in the first year. The avoided emissions from this solar project have the same environmental benefits as planting 5,202 trees or 267 acres of forest in Austin’s parks.
