What is deregulation?

Deregulation opened the market to competition giving you the power to choose from whom you purchase your energy. Prior to deregulation, your local utility was your only option and you had to pay the rate that the utility charged. Now you can choose from a number of retail electricity providers (REPs) and select the one that provides you with the options and prices that best meets your needs. Regardless of which REP you choose, your local utility still delivers your energy and provides emergency service.

How can Circular Energy reduce my monthly energy bill?

It’s difficult to guarantee savings due to the volatility of the energy markets. However, Circular Energy has a dynamic Supply procurement group that works to ensure that buying opportunities are met while our customers reap the benefits. This results in highly competitive prices for our residential and commercial customers.

If I'm already enrolled with an electricity provider, can I still switch to Circular Energy?

Yes you can. Please call 1-844-776-7693 or email customerservice@circularenergy.com. There is nothing else for you to do. No need to contact your existing provider. We will handle the switch with no interruption in your service.

Will I receive two separate monthly bills for my energy?

No. You will receive a single bill from Circular Energy each month. The bill will include delivery charges from the local utility along with Circular Energy’s energy price.

What is the difference between Fixed and Variable rate plans?

Fixed rate plans allow you to lock-in your rate for an extended period of time (based on the contract term selected) avoiding the fluctuation in energy prices every month. Your pricing remains steady. Fixed rate plans provide budget certainty and peace of mind. Variable rate plans allow you to purchase electricity at market-based prices that change every month. Unlike a Fixed rate, a Variable rate does not protect you against price volatility but it may help you realize the lowest possible price in the market. However, it also exposes you to possible price increases.

Once I switch to Circular Energy, when will my service start?

Service typically begins within 1 to 7 days of your desired switch date. You can request to have your service start sooner when you enroll, but your local electric delivery company may charge a fee for this non-standard switch.

If there is a problem with my electricity service, who should I call?

You will call your utility company. They will continue to respond to service interruptions and will maintain the infrastructure (“poles and wires”). You will continue to receive the same level of service from your local utility company, regardless of who supplies your energy.

If I switch to Circular Energy, will there be any interruption in my service?

No. The switch from one supplier to another is seamless. You will receive a single bill from Circular Energy while the utility ensures uninterrupted service.

How will I know if my enrollment was accepted?

Once you have been accepted and your switch has been approved, you will receive an e-mail and/or a welcome package in the mail.

Does Circular Energy offer renewable or green energy?

Yes we do. Each state has a minimum requirement for renewable energy content and we comply with each state’s requirement. Additionally, we offer a variety of options for increasing the percentage of renewable energy via the purchase of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs).

Can I terminate my agreement with Circular Energy at any time?

It depends on the type of service that you signed up for. In the case of our variable rate plans, you can terminate at any time without penalty. If you are in a fixed-rate plan penalties may apply. We recommend that you review your terms of service or commercial agreement prior to doing anything. If you are not sure, please do not hesitate to give us a call. We are always happy to help.
